1. What does GigSquad do?

GigSquad is a business and social platform for hourly jobs. We connect business owners and managers (“managers”) who have dynamic labor needs with skilled professionsals (“providers”) who prefer flexible work schedules.

On GigSquad, jobs are filled on a shift basis. Job shifts are defined at the time when a job is created. Then providers can apply for a job for one or multiple shifts across multiple weeks. Managers can also assign a job for one or multiple shifts across multiple weekes to a provider.

Users can build up their professional networks on GigSquad. As hourly jobs come and go, and professionals’ availablility and work needs change, an extensive professional network benefits the managers in fulfilling the jobs with the right candidates and the providers in getting the jobs that matche with their skills, schedule, and pay rate.

2. Is the GigSquad service free?

GigSquad is free to use for Basic members. If you use GigSquad enough and like it, there is a paid Prime membership that allows you to do more with GigSquad. See Pricing for Prime membership fees for managers and providers.

3. Where can I get Wrkio?

GigSquad is available in iOS and Android.

Download the GigSquad app in Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

4. How do I sign up?

You can sign up in the GigSquad apps. Enter your login email address, name, password, and choose your account type. If you are a business owner or manager looking to post jobs and hire hourly workers, please sign up as a Manager. If you are a professional looking for work, please sign up as a Provider. Once you sign up, a verification email will be sent to your login email address to verify the email address. You must verify your login email address before you can use most features of the GigSquad service.

5. What if I lost or never received the account verification email?

No worries. Upon login,

  • Then click on the user name on the top row of the side navigation menu to view the user profile;
  • Click on “Verify Email” to have another account verification email sent to your login email address;
  • Check your email inbox and click on the verification link in the account verification email.

 

Note that some email service may categorize emails from GigSquad as bulk emails. Be sure to check those bulk email folders (e.g., promotional, or spam) as well if you still cannot receive the verification email. If everything fails, please contact us.

6. How can I reset or change my password?

If you are not logged in,

  • On the login page, click “Forgot password” and enter your login email to receive the password reset link in the email.
  • Check your inbox and follow the link in the email to reset the password.

If you are already logged in,

  • Then click on “Settings”.
  • In the settings page, click on “Change Password”.
  • Enter your current password and the new password, confirm the new password, and click “Save New Password”.

7. Why do I need to complete my profile?

GigSquad serves as a platform to connect business owners and managers with dynamic labor needs and professionals with flexible work schedules. The email verification and minimum requirement on user profile aim to reduce bots and abuses thus improving the experience of real users.

A user must provide his/her name. A Provider user must provide a location (city, state, country, and postal code only; street address not needed). A Manager user must provide a business name, his/her title, and business address (including street address, city, state, country, and postal code).

Complete your profile with About, Experience, Education, Achievement, and contact information to make your profile more authentic and approachable. This will help you expand your professional network and make you stand out in other users’ job and candidate search.

8. How do I build up my professional network?

A extensive and relevant professional network can make more jobs available to you that match your expertise and schedule. Do the following to build your professional network on GigSquad:

  • Invite your managers, customers, and business partners to join GigSquad
  • Discover and connect to other GigSquad users through your existing connections
  • Browse and search the GigSquad Network for users that you may want to connect with

9. How do I invite people to join GigSquad?

It’s easy to invite friends and professional contacts to join GigSquad.

  • Click on the menu icon (  ) to open the side navigation menu;
  • Then click on “Connections”.
  • In the Connections page, click on the Invite icon (  ) on the top right corner.
  • Type in the email address(es) of the user(s) you want to invite and click “Send Invitation”. You can also select the recommended user type for the invitees.
  • Invitations will be sent to the users’ email addresses.

10. How do I search for jobs?

You can find jobs near you in GigSquad Job Market.

  • Click on the menu icon (  ) to open the side navigation menu;
  • Then click on “Job Market” to see the list of jobs near you.
  • To narrow down, type in relevant keywords in the top search bar the top right corner and hit “Enter” or “Search”.
  • Click “Add Job” at the bottom of a job card to add the job to your own job list.

11. How do I apply for a job?

On either your Jobs page or the Job Market page, click on a job to view the job. The shift schedule of the job and the status of the shifts will be shown on the job page. You can check the status of each shift by clicking the action icon (  ) of the shift. Navigate through different dates by clicking on the backward icon (  ) and forward icon (  ). Click on the date range to change the view from daily to weekly, or monthly.

To apply for a job,

  • Find the shift and starting date that fits your schedule. If the status of the shift on the starting date is shown either as “Available” or “Pending”, you can add that shift to a new task application.
  • Click on the action icon (  ) of the shift on that date to open the action dropdown menu.
  • Click on Add to Application to add the shift to the new task application. You can add multiple shifts to a new task application.
  • You may also repeat the same shift across multiple weeks in the new task application, if that shift is available in those weeks. To do that,
    • Click on the action icon (  ) of a shift that is Added to the new task application to open the action dropdown menu.
    • Choose the number of weeks you would like to repeat the shift and hit “Save”. Note Basic users can book shifts up to 30 days ahead, while Prime users can book shifts up to 365 days ahead. Also note that the repetition may not conflict with either confirmed schedule on the job or your confirmed schedule.
  • After you added all shifts and selected the number of weeks you would like to repeat for those shifts, click “Review Task Application” to review the new task application.
  • In the Task Application page, review your selected shifts and end dates for repeated shifts. Make changes if necessary.
  • You can also add comments in your new task application.
  • Click on “Apply” if you are satisfied with the new task application.
  • The new task application will be sent to the manager for approval. You will receive a push notification and in your email once the manager approves the application. You can also check the status of the task in the “Tasks” page of your app.

12. How do I accept or reject a task assignment from a manager user?

When a manager assign a task to you, you should receive push notifications and an email about the task. You should also see the new task in the “Tasks” page in the app. Click on either the push notification, or the link in the email, or the new task in the “Tasks” page to view the task. Upon reviewing the task, click “Accept” to accept the task or “Reject” to reject it. You can also add comments to the task while accepting or rejecting the task.

13. How do I update a task?

Provider users can update a pending task they initiated. To do that,

  • Navigate to the task you wish to update either from the Tasks page, or the Schedule Page, or the Job page for the job this task is on.
  • Click on the edit icon (  ) in the header of the Schedule section to modify the schedule. You can add and or shifts, or change the number of weeks for shifts in the task.
  • You can also change the number of weeks for a shift by clicking on the action icon (  ) of that shift and selecting “View Shift Schedule” and then changing the number of weeks for the shift.
  • Click “Update” to update the task.

Provider users with Prime membership can also update a confirmed or a rejected task the same way. Note if you change the schedule of a confirmed task, the task is no longer confirmed! Its status will be set to “updated by provider” and the task will be sent to manager of the task for approval.

14. How do I quit a task?

Provider can quit a task by clicking on the “Quit” button on the task page.

15. How do I chat with / send messages to a user?

You can start a chat with or send a message to a user in the following ways:

  • Navigate to the “Chats” page either through either the side navigation menu or the bottom navigation bar. Then Click the New Chat icon (  )
  • Navigate to the “Connections” page either through either the side navigation menu or the bottom navigation bar. Then click on the Chat icon (  )
  • Navigate to the user’s profile through the Connections page, and then click the “Message” button.

Note you can only message or chat with a user that is connected with you.

16. How do I check the schedule of a job and its tasks?

You can check the schedule of a job by navigating to the job either via the Jobs page or the Schedule page. The available shifts and dates will be shown in the job page. Your pending and confirmed tasks on this job will also be shown. Some shifts may be shown as “Unavailable” on some dates either because those shifts are already assigned to other users on those dates, or because they conflict with your availability schedule or confirmed tasks on other jobs.

You can also toggle between the job schedule and your schedule by clicking on the schedule toggle icon (  /  ) on the header of the job page. This allows you to have a quick view of your schedule without leaving the job page.

17. How do I check the schedule of all my jobs and tasks?

Providers can check the schedules of all of their jobs and tasks in the Schedule page. If configured, the availability schedule of the provider will also be shown. To configure you availability, see How to configure my availability / work hours?

The status of the shifts and dates of the jobs are shown and color coded (yellow for “Pending”, green for “Confirmed”). Hours provider is available are shown in red as “Available”.

You can filter the schedule of the jobs by businesses, jobs, managers, supervisor, and providers by clicking the filter icon (  ) on the top navigation bar.

18. How do I add a task schedule to my calendar?

You can add a confirmed task (“accepted by provider” or “approved by manager”) to your calendar. To do so,

  • Navigate to the task page from the Tasks page, the Schedule page, or the Job page.
  • Make sure the task is confirmed, i.e., with status “accepted by provider” or “approved by manager”.
  • Click on the action icon (  ) and then click on “Add Task to Calendar” in the dropdown menu.
  • If you have multiple shifts in the task, you will need to click on the action icon (  ) of each shift and then click on “Add Shift to Calendar” in the dropdown menu to add each shift to calendar.

19. How do I subscribe for Prime membership?

You can sign up for Prime membership in the iOS or Android app. To do so,

  • Navigate to Membership via the main menu.
  • The Membership page shows your membership status. If you are a Basic user, an “Upgrade to Prime” button should be shown in the page.
  • Click on the “Upgrade to Prime” button. On the Wrkio website, you will be prompted to provide payment information and agreement to Wrkio Terms of Use and Privacy Policy before you upgrade your membership. In the iOS app, the subscription is handled as an in-app purchase by Apple App Store.

You cannot sign up for Prime membership in the Android app yet. Android users can visit the Wrkio website to upgrade to Prime membership.

20. How do I cancel my Prime membership?

If you subscribed to Prime membership via the GigSquad website, visit the website to cancel the membership. Upon login to your account, navigate to the Membership page via the main menu, click on the “Cancel Membership” button.

If you subscribed to Prime membership via Apple in-app purchase, use Apple in-app purchase to cancel the subscription. Upon login to your iOS app, navigate to the Membership page via the main menu, click on the “Cancel Membership” button.

Upon cancellation, your subscription will not be renewed for the next subscription period. No refund for the current subscription period will be issued. You can continue to enjoy the Prime membership till the end of the current subscription period.

You can create a new job in the Jobs page as follows,

  • Click the “New Job” button.
  • Select a job profile image.
  • Enter business, job, and schedule information.
  • Click the “Create” button.

Your new job is now created and available for GigSquad Provider users to apply. You can also assign tasks on the job to your connected Provider users.

11. How do I assign a task to a provider user?

On your Jobs page, click on a job to view the job. The shift schedule of the job and the status of the shifts will be shown on the job page. To assign a new task to a provider for this job,

  • Find a shift on the job and a date that fit your schedule. If the status of the shift on the date is shown either as “Open” or “Pending”, you can add that shift to a new task assignment.
  • Click on the action icon (  ) of the shift on that date to open the action dropdown menu.
  • Click on Add to Assignment to add the shift to the new task assignment. You can add multiple shifts to a new task assignment.
  • You may also repeat the same shift across multiple weeks in the new task assignment, if that shift is available in those weeks. To do that,
    • Click on the action icon (  ) of a shift that is Added to the new task assignment to open the action dropdown menu.
    • Choose the number of weeks you would like to repeat the shift and hit “Save”. Note Basic users can book shifts up to 30 days ahead, while Prime users can book shifts up to 365 days ahead. Also note that the repetition may not conflict with either confirmed schedule on the job or your confirmed schedule.

  • Select a supervisor and a provider for the task
  • You can also add comments in your new task application.
  • Click on “Assign” if you are satisfied with the new task assignment.
  • The new task assignment will be sent to the provider for acceptance. You will receive a push notification and in your email once the provider accept the assignment. You can also check the status of the task in the “Tasks” page of your app.

12. How do I approve or deny a task application from a provider user?

When a manager assign a task to you, you should receive push notifications and an email about the task. You should also see the new task in the “Tasks” page in the app. Click on either the push notification, or the link in the email, or the new task in the “Tasks” page to view the task. Upon reviewing the task, click “Accept” to accept the task or “Reject” to reject it. You can also add comments to the task while accepting or rejecting the task.

13. How do I update a task?

  • Navigate to the “Chats” page either through either the side navigation menu or the bottom navigation bar. Then Click the New Chat icon (  )
  • Navigate to the “Connections” page either through either the side navigation menu or the bottom navigation bar. Then click on the Chat icon (  )
  • Navigate to the user’s profile through the Connections page, and then click the “Message” button.

Note you can only message or chat with a user that is connected with you.

16. How do I check the schedule of a job and its tasks?

You can check the schedule of a job by navigating to the job either via the Jobs page or the Schedule page. All pending and confirmed tasks, and open shifts and dates on this job are shown. You can navigate to the tasks or adding open shifts to a new task by clicking on the action icon (  ) of the tasks or shifts, respectively.
